Presented by High Moon Equine & Canine Sports Therapy, this adventure documentary about the Mongol Derby, the longest horse race in the world, takes viewers on a wild ride, from a dramatic start with casualties medivaced off the field to an unexpected, nail-biting finish. Spanning a network of 28 horse stations across 1000 km of Mongolian wilderness over 8 days, the race recreates the horse messenger system developed by Genghis Khan. Riders from the United States, Canada, South Africa, Ireland, United Kingdom, and the Netherlands navigate with GPS as they battle extreme heat, swollen rivers, and wild dogs. Director Ivo Marloh rode the complete race twice in order to film the action first-hand and to find out what compels riders to face such arduous risks on the backs of wild horses in one of the last true wildernesses on Earth. Won Best International Feature Documentary at the 2017 Galway Film Fleadh among other awards.
