Chris Beauchamp is a writer, filmmaker, and photographer based in Grande Prairie. After interning on the Reel Shorts Shoot for Reel project in July 2012, he was the Director of Photography on SOPHIA directed by Rory Mells. In 2013, he won the Reel Shorts Screenwriting Competition and received production funding for his first short film THE DEVICE which screened at the 2015 fest. He was also Director of Photography for COLD DECISION written and directed by Gordie Haakstad which screened at the 2015 fest. Chris and Cris Seppola-Podsada wrote and directed SMOOTH MOVES as part of their coursework for a video production course taught by Gordie Haakstad at Grande Prairie Regional College. It screened at the 2016 festival. He and Gordie wrote, produced, and directed THE SOUVENIR which won Best Peace Region Film at the 2016 festival.
Leah Johnston is a Nova Scotian filmmaker, photographer and actor. She has written and directed four award-winning short films that have screened at dozens of international festivals, including Fantasia Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival (Telefilm- Not Short on Talent), Montreal World Film Festival and the CBC Gala at Atlantic Film Festival. Recent honors include a sweep of the awards at Vancouver Island Short Film Festival (Best Picture, Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Best Technical Achievement), wins at both Edmonton International Film Festival and Silver Wave Film Festival for Best Canadian Short, the Corus Fearless Female Director award (National Screen Institute), the 35k Bravofact Pitch prize for Women in Film, an award for Best Horror (Silver Wave Film Festival), two Special Jury Prizes (Worldfest Houston) and nominations for Best Emerging Filmmaker and Best Short at Yorkton Golden Sheaf Awards. She is currently developing her first feature film, CREATURE HE, while pursuing work in television and commercial directing.
Paul Bailey is an award-winning British actor and is a graduate of the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, with a Masters degree in Acting for Screen. Having been a professional actor for the last 15 years, he has been in numerous productions; from no-budget student films to multi-million dollar blockbusters. THE LAST ONE is his first foray into writing and producing, and is proving to have international success.
