I am delighted to announce that the winner of the $10,000 production package that’s included as part of the first Youth Film Mentorship Project is a production team from the Grande Prairie Composite High School with a comedy script called HB:
- Writer/Producer Imogen Pohl (Grade 11)
- Director Nathan Fast (Grade 12)
- Cinematographer Chillton Alstad (Grade 12)
- Editor Mike Evans (Grade 12)
Scott Belyea and I were very impressed with the submissions and the decision was not an easy one! But we could only choose one and now the hard work really begins for the winning team. In just under 7 weeks, their film will have its world premiere when it leads off the Best of the Fest film package on Sunday, May 5!
We are able to provide this opportunity for Peace Region youth through funding from the Alberta government and the generous support of Encana and the Stanford Inn, our Youth Film presenting sponsors.
