The 16th Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour runs January 11-13 at the Douglas J. Cardinal Theatre at the GPRC (Grande Prairie Regional College) with a different line-up of films each night starting at 7:00 pm. This is a major fundraiser for the Wapiti Nordic Ski Club so it’s a chance to see some great films and support a real asset to the community while doing so. Our festival isn’t affiliated in any way with this event except that we naturally support anything that brings great films to our region.
Sunday night sold out a few weeks ago, but there are still some tickets available for Monday and Tuesday. It’s general seating so you don’t have to worry about all the good seats being taken, but show up at the college well before the doors open at 6:30 pm to have the best choice of seats. Tickets are $25 for a single night and $45 for 2 nights (the offer of 3 nights for $60 is no longer available). They can be purchased at the Revolution Place Box Office online, by phone at 780.538.0387, or in person during regular hours of operation.
It’s best to leave the youngsters at home because the films can have some coarse language and nudity, but teens should enjoy the amazing cinematography and thrilling moments.
Watch the trailer to see clips from some of the films that will screen each night. See you there!
