DD 1082 – Introduction to Video Production
The DD 1082 – Introduction to Video Production course at Grande Prairie Regional College provides exposure to the techniques, theories, and practices of video production. During this 15-week course on Thursday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:50pm August 31 to November 30, students will learn how to direct with a camera, work with actors, and develop skills in story boarding, lighting, and sound in addition to producing their own video projects.
Information about registering for this $486.87 course can be found here. If you’ve never taken a course at GPRC before, there is a one-time $70 non-refundable application fee and what appears to be a lot of steps to go through, but don’t be intimidated by the full application process. There is a streamlined process for people who want to register part-time in Open Studies. Phone 780-539-2911 or 1-888-539-4772 or email studentinfo@gprc.ab.ca for more information.
Patrick O’Connor took the course last year and raved about it in his entertaining 4-minute video below. See above and scroll down for photos of Patrick working on the Frantic48 film STILL GOT IT along with Hen House team members Laura Beauchamp and Richard Podsada. Their film won the Frantic48 Best Film and Audience Choice awards as well as $500 at our 2017 fest in May. See Award Winners for more information.
